Core studies

Always necessary material:

Knowing: Units and quantities, order of magnitude and dimensions; Velocity, acceleration, angular velocity and acceleration; Concept of force, torque, equation of motion and Newtons laws; Concept of work, kinetic and potential energy and power; Gravitation; Momentum and angular momentum; Conservation of momentum, angular momentum and energy; Harmonic oscillator; Longitudinal and transverse wave.

Applying: Performing simple measurements and analyzing the results; Kinematics of a particle in three dimensions; Dynamics of a particle; Friction, spring force and gravitational force; Work and energy in different physical situations; Collisions of particles; Simple and physical pendulum; Basic concepts of mechanical wave motion and sound.

Complementary material:

Knowing: Fundamental interactions; Relative motion; Center of mass and moment of inertia for a system of particles; Wave equation; Doppler effect.

Applying: Connection between measurement and theory; Equilibrium conditions; Planetary motion; Damped oscillator.
