Work Ability Coordinator Training

This training is suitable for you if you work in services that support the employment and continued employment of people with partial work ability, for example in wellness and health centers, specialized medical care, occupational health care, TE services, educational institutions, organizations, or HR tasks. In addition, you must have a higher education or college degree as your basic education.
The training includes two study modules, totaling 10 credits:
Renewed services for employment and work ability, 5 credits (April 21–May 12, 2026)
A broad approach to employment and work ability, 5 credits (May 19–June 9, 2026)
The training is conducted online, but requires attendance at agreed times via the internet.

New services for employment and work ability, 5 credits
Implementation period: April 21–May 12, 2026. Teaching hours: 1–4 p.m.

A broad approach to employment and work ability 5 credits
Implementation period: May 19–June 9, 2026. Teaching hours: 1–4 p.m.

You can also participate in the training even if you are not currently working in employment or continuing employment support services, but are interested in working as a work ability coordinator. If you have little experience of services supporting the work ability of people with partial work ability, familiarize yourself with the subject by completing the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health's Work Ability Support training (2 credits) independently in advance.
After completing the training, you will
understand the basics of the employment and work ability service system, its sub-areas, and operations
be familiar with factors and situations related to employment and work ability challenges
be familiar with the basics of guidance work
you will be able to work as part of employment and work ability support cooperation networks
you will be able to identify work ability risks and early intervention methods
you will be able to promote sustainable employment solutions and return to work
