Konetekniikka (Bachelor) path, blended studies 60 cr

The path studies in Mechanical Engineering include the first-year compulsory studies of the Mechanical Engineering Bachelor's Degree Programme (tuition in Finnish, blended studies, specialisation in Materials and Surface Engineering). Path students complete the studies together with degree students.

Why choose path studies?

Path studies (60 ECTS) are an alternative route to becoming a degree student. After completing the path studies, you may apply to become a degree student on Metropolia’s Mechanical Engineering degree programme (blended/multiform studies) through the open pathway application process. The specialisation is Materials and Surface Engineering.

If you are admitted as a degree student, the pathway studies will be recognised as part of your degree studies and you will continue with the second-year studies. Please note that completing path studies does not automatically guarantee admission as a degree student.

Teaching is organised mainly on weekday evenings from 17:00 to 20:00 and on some weekends. Contact teaching is arranged at the Myyrmäki campus at Leiritie 1, Vantaa. Note that teaching language is Finnish. In Finnish-language degree programmes, acquiring professional communication skills in Finnish requires an entry level of B2.

The studies begin with an orientation day in week 34. The orientation is compulsory for all students. Further information and a more detailed programme will be sent by email in August. Teaching begins in week 35.
