Path studies are an alternative route to becoming a degree student. In the pathway, you will study the first semester courses (autumn 2026) together with a degree education group at the Open University of Applied Sciences
Clinical Expert Path Studies - Optometrist are suitable for you if you want to

• deepen your clinical competence in examining the anterior and posterior segments of the eye, assessing diseases, and utilising imaging technologies
• learn the pharmacology of ophthalmic medicines and safe medication management
• strengthen your clinical decision-making competence
• learn orthoptics and paediatric eye care
• learn the fitting and follow-up of specialty contact lenses and the planning of individual care pathways.

  Orientation to Metropolia – Basics of Information Security and Artificial Intelligence, 1 ECTS
  Advanced Anterior Segment Assessment, 10 ECTS credits
  Basic Research Methods and Skills, 5 ECTS
  Management Studies 5 ECTS
