Target group
The course is available for students of all degree programmes.
Elective in KIK-KK100 Cognitive science
Elective in LDA-C500 Cognitive Science module.
Elective in LDA-C300 Advanced Studies in Cognitive Science.
Timing
Any. First year of master's studies at the latest.
The course will be offered either in Period I, II, or split between periods I-II (according to annually decided curriculum).

Activities and methods in support of learning
a) Active participation to workshops and going through digital materials beforehand are required. Active participation includes discussion of the central topics with other students and the teacher.
The teacher assigns readings or other material to the workshops, distributes information, uses activating exercises and discussion, and poses problems that activate new ways of thinking and requires students to apply their knowledge. Questions, discussion and independent acquisition of knowledge are encouraged. Student feedback is collected and used to develop teaching further.
b) Self study, and exam in Moodle.
Assessment methods and criteria
In the final exam, the student must display having developed a scientific understanding of and insight into the structure and function of the human brain and how it supports cognitive functions.
