In this course, you will learn what Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cybersecurity are, how are these two related and in what way these two complement each other. You will be introduced to basic concepts of cybersecurity and AI, understand cybersecurity threat landscape, AI’s applications and how these applications transforming our lives.
You will be exposed to concerns surrounding AI, including how AI can be weaponized against cybersecurity and privacy implications. You will also learn how cybersecurity is salient for AI based systems.
This course is an introductory course for anyone, having a Finnish high school or equivalent qualification. You do not need to have a computer science expertise or a programing language knowledge to take this course. We have made it as simple as possible for you.
Additional information
AI & Cybersecurity is organized as a MOOC - online course that is open and free for all participants. If you want to complete the study unit (2 ECTS credits), you can obtain the right to study by registering for the course organized as open university education and paying the tuition fee. The course is part of Multidisciplinary Study Module in Artificial Intelligence (25 ECTS).and it is also available as an independent course.
The introductory course is suitable for everyone who has completed a degree in upper secondary school or has similar competences and skills. Students are not required to possess previous skills in computer science or knowledge of programming languages.

If you enrol for the course by December 1, 2025, the study right is valid until July 31, 2026.
If you enrol for the course from December 2, 2025 onwards, the study right is valid until December 31, 2026.
