Basics of Object Oriented Programming

The key content is the definition of one’s own custom classes. The course includes an introduction to inheritance along with its concepts, constructs, exceptions and generality. Also the use of existing data structures and class libraries is studied in practice. Composing basic applications and the manipulation of text files is also covered. The student is required to independently write, compile and test programs throughout the course.

What you need to know before the course

What you will learn

The goal is learning to define one’s own classes and to compose basic object-oriented programs. The language used is Java. After the course the student will know all essential concepts of object-oriented programming and what they mean. The student will be able to use the object features and mechanisms of Java in programming. The course strengthens the following working life skills: presentation skills, multi-professionalism, problem solving skills, information and communication technology skills and communication skills.
