Development and Management of Client and Patient Safety

Introduction to Client and Patient Safety, 1 credit, completed.

After completing the course, the student will be able to: - Recognize the legislation and strategies guiding the management of client and patient safety, and understand the importance of strategic management for client and patient safety. - Identify the roles and responsibilities in the management and development of client and patient safety at different levels of the management system. - Explain the concept of safety culture and the factors promoting it and recognize the importance of safety culture from the perspective of social and health care management. - Recognize the importance of utilizing quality and effectiveness data in the management and development of client and patient safety. - Apply the principles of multidisciplinary, interprofessional, and client involvement to promote high-quality and safe care and to develop a safety culture. The course develops the following generic skills: Digitalization, ethics, leadership and development, sustainability and responsibility, critical thinking, and recognizing and developing one's own expertise.
