This SNOMED CT Foundation is translated into Finnish from SNOMED CT International Foundation co-operation with Finnish Institute of health and welfare (THL). SNOMED CT Foundation gives the basics of terminology work and idea of SNOMED CT.

What you will learn

After completing the course, the students can explain the benefits of terminology work in health and human services informatics. Student knows the benefits of SNOMED CT and practices SNOMED CT browser. In this course, student takes a look at design and development of SNOMED CT. Finally, student learns how mapping can be used to connect different languages or terminologies via SNOMED CT. Course develops the following generic skills: Digitalization, development, Critical thinking, Identification and development of expertise
