Perspectives to Karelian culture and tradition

FH00CU17 Näkökulmia karjalaiseen perinnekulttuuriin, 5 op on samansisältöinen kurssi kuin vanhan OPSin kurssi Karjalainen kulttuuri I (4 op). Sitä ei tule suorittaa, jos on aiemmin suorittanut Karjalainen kulttuuri I -kurssin.

Learning outcomes After completing the course the student will be able to: - describe the main features of Karelian traditional culture and genres of oral tradition - identify how the location of the Karelian region has influenced the formation of folk culture - identify the importance of the Orthodox cultural tradition in Karelian traditional culture. The course develops the following work skills: knowledge of Karelian culture as an expert, which can be widely used in the cultural sector and in the revitalisation of Karelian language and culture; mastery of large-scale concepts and the ability to summarise the content of readings into a text or other output; (for modes 1 and 2) independent information search using both traditional and digital methods.
