MOOC: Measuring and Evaluating Social Impact

Background of the course: The basis of the social quality approach is that the better the social quality in society, the better the well-being of the people. Social quality has a strong assumption of the values of a good society: equality, freedom, justice, and solidarity. Social quality simply describes those processes that are central to promote sustainable well-being equally for all. In this course, we will introduce social quality framework and its key processes that can be used to promote sustainable well-being. We present a social quality calculation tool that is based on social quality framework, research knowledge and comparable data as well as indicators. We will also demonstrate the tool can be used to evaluate the social impact and savings of various measures and policies aimed at promoting well-being and to support evidence-based decision-making.
