The student understands the basics of the formation of scientific knowledge, is familiar with typical research designs and data collection methods in psychology, knows the stages of research, and is aware of the associated ethical principles, especially in human-related research.

The book exam covers chapters 1–19; however, in chapters 13–19 the focus is on understanding the basics of statistical methods; there will be no numerical exercises in the exam.
