Environmental legislation and EIA

After completing the course, the student will master the basics of environmental legislation. The student knows the basic principles of the Water Act affecting the water environment and water resources, the Environmental Protection Act affecting the state of the environment, and the Mining Act. The student will also be familiar with the law on environmental impact assessment. The student will recognize the guiding effects of environmental laws in various environmental projects and understand the principles of various planning processes and permit procedures and impact assessment, and will be able to understand and critically analyze the environmental impact assessment report and thereby also have an impact on society. The student is able to search for information and instructions related to environmental legislation and knows how to apply them in planning and research projects.

The student receives a course mark depending on the requirements of his degree program and/or his/her own wishes. By default, students of environmental engineering from the course "488142A Environmental legislation and EIA" and students of construction and community engineering receive a mark from the course "485022A Basics of the built environment".
