Introduction to Saami Culture and Society

The course will lead the student to basic knowledge of Sámi culture and society. The course covers the special features of Sámi language and cultural areas, history, traditional knowledge and contemporary culture. The course provides diverse and up-to-date information on Sámi culture and society. The course helps to understand the diversity of Sámi from ethically, culturally and politically sustainable perspectives.
