R Basics (OPEN UNI)

After completing this course, the student - knows how to use R via the RStudio interface, - knows how to work with the most common data types and data structures in R, - is familiar with the R package tidyverse (especially packages tibble, readr, readxl, dplyr, ggplot2) and knows also how to install other R packages, - knows how to create graphs from the data using both basic R functions and functions from ggplot2 package, - can write own functions in R and knows the most common conditional statements and loops, - knows the basics of R Markdown and is able to produce a simple R Markdown document, - has gained the basic skills needed to examine and modify data in statistics courses.

Instructions for the degree students of the University of Oulu: This course is part of the completion of the courses 805353A Statistical Software and NM00AJ54 R programming. Please register primarily directly to those courses if you intend to study either one of the courses during the implementation time. Courses Statistical Software and R programming contain also tutoring but this R Basics is a fully self-study course. If you do R Basics (OPEN UNI) you need to send a replacement application to the responsible person of the courses mentioned above.
