Learn to program in Java. The course focuses on understanding and learning the fundamental concepts, the syntax and structure of Java programming - by programming in Java. Core contents: The concepts of a class and an object, encapsulation, information hiding, composition, inheritance, polymorphism, exceptions, file handling, UML and code, generics, packages, containers, development tools, version control, documenting, unit testing.

What you need to know before the course

What you will learn

After completion of this course, the student will be able to: * understand the principles of object paradigm (e.g., class, object, encapsulation, information hiding, polymorphism, inheritance, composition), * use basic programming tools (such as a compiler / IDE, Integrated Development Environment), * implement Java programs according to the given instructions, * handle exceptions, * handle files, * utilize container classes and generics and interpret the structure and functionality of classes from code, * test programs, and * understand the purpose of a version control tool.
