Swedish and Finland-Swedish Culture and Society (OPEN UNI)

How long was Finland a part of Sweden and what traces can be found from that time? What is characteristic of the culture in today’s Sweden? In this course, you will get to know the culture and society in both Sweden and Swedish-speaking Finland! The societal structures of Sweden and Swedish-speaking Finland are presented through historical, religious, and cultural aspects, among others. Students will also participate in Swedish traditions and customs. In addition, the course is connected to actual holidays and events in both Sweden and Swedish-speaking Finland.
