Breast Cancer Treatments and Therapies - MODULE 2

What does this EBreast2 e-learning course offer to health care professionals? E-learning modules comprising 15 ects credits was developed by using evidence-based approach. Breast cancer treatment process is complex, and basically all modern day treatment options are applied. This means that many different professions are involved in this pathway. Using evidence-based approach in the development and implementation of the e-learning packages facilitates the development of life-long learning competences among the students and health care professionals who are taking part of the courses. Module 2 focuses on breast cancer treatment and therapies. The main aim of this module is to deepen participants` knowledge on different treatment methods used either as definite treatment or combination of treatments beginning with the factors that underpin the approach chosen. Learner will also gain knowledge of breast cancer treatment related acute reactions by their common signs and symptoms and management of metastatic breast cancer. The module consists of the following sub-topics: Principles of breast cancer diagnosing, treatment intent and appropriate treatment methods, surgery, systematic anticancer therapies, radiotherapy, treatment related emergencies, management of metastatic breast cancer. This course is completed independently online. After completing the course, the student prints out a certificate of completion.
