The student perceives and understands: - the main legislation on social care and health care and how they form a mutually supportive whole in terms of practical work (eg Social Welfare Act, Health Care Act, Public Health Act, Special Nursing Act, Child Welfare Act, Act on the Status and Rights of Social Care Clients, Act on the Status and Rights of Patients and Certain Special Acts) - the application of legislation is governed by human rights and the Finnish Constitution - basic principles and structure of the Finnish legal system so that students can use and interpret legislation and other sources of law - the statutory responsibility for carrying out the practical work - the development of legislation and policies
