Principles of Accounting and Finance

The course belongs to BBA Key Competencies.
Prior to this course the student should have completed following HH key competence course or gained similar knowledge and skills:

After having completed this course or attained an equivalent competence level, the student is able to:

• Record and analyze business transactions by applying the double-entry bookkeeping technique accurately and systematically
• Prepare and interpret basic financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting practices
• Explain and justify the role of planning and forecasting in supporting organizational decision-making
• Prepare and evaluate sub-budgets and financial plans for a company as part of the overall budgeting process
• Identify key capital market actors and describe their roles in a business and financing context.
• Assess and compare alternative financing options for companies’ operations and investment projects
• recognize the need for working capital in a company
• Identify and evaluate ethical and responsible practices related to the finance profession
