The course examines the structure and significance of the financial markets, particularly the functioning of the bond and stock markets, the determination of interest rates and the role of risks, as well as the theoretical and empirical pricing of stocks. The role of incomplete information in the formation of financial market structures is examined, as are the operations and role of banks in supplying financing. The mechanisms, causes and consequences of financial crises are also discussed.
