Extreme Phenomena in Media Society

The course examines religious and political extremist movements and related emotions in a global world from the perspective of media and communication studies, as well as from a multidisciplinary perspective. The themes examined include the history of terrorism, the rhetoric of hate and power, gendered violence, the ritualisation of death and hate, and the hate networks of the internet.
