In the inorganic chemistry part the working time in the lab is usually around 3-4 hours per day starting from 8:30 in the morning. In the organic part work starts at 8:30 and usually ends at around 15:00. It is possible to attend lectures and problem solving sessions during the labs, but it is important to inform your teacher well beforehand of any time missed. The lab work needs to be planned so that stopping the work is safe. If there are too many absences, it is possible that the lab course cannot be finished. Group 1 (FIN): Weeks 11-12 Organic, Week 13 Inorganic; Group 2 (FIN): Week 11 Inorganic, Weeks 13-14 Organic; Group 3 (ENG): Week 12 Inorganic, Weeks 13-14 Organic; Group 4 (ENG/FIN): Weeks 11-12 Organic, Weeks 14-15 Inorganic.
To pass the course one has to:
- pass the laboratory safety exam
- do all the laboratory assignments (some of the work is done in pairs)
- return all written assignments and have them accepted by the teacher (everyone returns their own work)
- a report in the inorganic/general chemistry part
