Russian for Beginners 1

Russian alphabet or the course KK-VEN001 Get Started Learning the Russian Language.

If you previously have not studied any Russian, start by completing the course KK-VEN001, which can be completed during the same term alongside this course or during another term.

After completing the course, students will be able to handle uncomplicated interaction in Russian. Among other things, they will

• Be able to greet and say goodbye, as well as use the most important courtesy phrases
• Be able to introduce themselves and others, share basic information about themselves and ask for such information from others
• Be able to tell about their family, free time and interests
• Be familiar with Russian customs.

Depending on the group, one of the following:

• Dolmatova & Novacac: Tochka ru A1, textbook and workbook, chapters 1.1–3.3
• Kampus.ru(Opens in a new tab) 1 (available on the course Moodle area)
• Other material announced by the teacher.

Participation in teaching (contact teaching/blended learning/on-line learning).

There are several completion methods for the course; for details, see the group-specific information. Depending on the completion method, the number of hours for real-time online learning is 24–48 and for independent learning 60–108.

Active participation (at least 75% attendance) and completion of agreed assignments in the time allotted.

Assessment is based on the learning outcomes. The teacher will make a separate announcement on written and oral coursework and examinations.

Students monitor their progress and receive regular feedback on their learning.

Students of all degree programmes, students with a JOO flexible study right, international students.

The course can also be offered as open university education.

First and second teaching periods, from second to fourth teaching periods.
