Work and organizational psychology III: Power, diversity and equality

Upon completion of the course, the student:

 has advanced knowledge in critical social psychological organization theory related to current challenges in organizations
 can apply this knowledge in organizations in regard to power relations, intersectionality, discrimination, difference and diversity
 has skills to identify problems in organizations and to problematize asymmetrical power relations in order to advance inclusion and equality

Attending lectures (80 %): Students are expected to read book chapters and articles before and during the course, attend lectures, participate in group assignments and write an essay.

OR

Self-learning : Students are expected to read assigned literature, do assignments and write an essay at a mass/general exam

The course is optional as a part of the advanced level studies.

The course is a part of the minor subject Leadership MSV-LJ515/MSV-LJ525.

Students are given priority to participate in the course in following order:
1. students in MSV, SOSM and COS majoring in Social Psychology,
2. other students in the MSV,
3. other students at the University of Helsinki.
