Neuroscientific approach to artistic and practical subjects

This course is closely related to courses in psychology and cognitive science deepening the knowledge on brain research methodology and results. The course Neuroscience in Educational Sciences is a good accompaniment to this course.

The student becomes familiar with brain research methods related to artistic and practical subjects and learns the key results related to the neuroscience of artistic and practical subjects and their effects on learning. The course covers all artistic and practical subjects of the Finnish curriculum but the main focus is on music, physical activity, and crafts. The student understands application possibilities of brain research in artistic and practical subjects in the field of learning, teaching, education, and wellbeing.
