Criminology

After completing the course, students will be proficient in the basics of criminology’s research topics and questions related both to research on criminal behaviour and social control. Students will understand the material base of criminological research and the special methodological characteristics of the discipline. They will understand the basic features of the key criminological theories.

Target group

If the course is given more than once during the academic year, some of the options can be limited to the first three target groups in the list below. In such cases, the target groups will be determined in the annual teaching programme.

1. Students of the Study Track in Criminology and an annual quota for students of degree programmes in law

2. Bachelor’s and Master’s Programmes in Psychology, Master’s Programme in Social Research

3. Other students

Timing

First period. The timing of other possible options will be determined in the teaching programme.

For degree students in the Bachelor’s Programme in Social Research, the recommended time of completion is the second or third year of studies.

Implementation

The completion methods will be annually determined in the teaching programme.
