Introduction to Society & Change I

After completing the course, the student will have research-based tools to perceive and structure political, social, and economic changes and development issues, as well as the historical and cultural diversity of societies. They are familiar with the approaches of social and cultural anthropology, global development studies, and political, economic, social history and the questions shared by the above. They have become adept at understanding the causes and consequences of local, national, and global conflicts, the distribution of power, prosperity, and welfare, and people’s experiences of and attempts to influence social change.
