After completing the course, you will be able to identify soil and rock types based on their appearance and grain composition. You will be able to accurately determine design parameters related to the technical properties of soil types. In addition, you will have an understanding of Finland’s geological history and comprehend the impact of groundwater and the environment on construction projects. You will be able to independently interpret and analyze soil investigation results. You will have mastered the calculation of the bearing capacity of shallow foundations and be able to make preliminary assessments of their settlements.
