Time and place
On the Linnanmaa campus every week during the academic year 2025–2026 (September–April). Possible sections in real events related to the performing and audiovisual arts.
Description
Content and dates
The course teaches audiovisual programming, especially in the Max programming environment. Depending on the nature and wishes of the student group, the SuperCollider environment can also be used for more detailed processing. All open environments like the mentioned tools can be demanding to manage, so the content is modified to match the students' starting level and progress. The aim is to connect the practical work as comprehensively as possible to the actual professional situations of performing and installation arts.
The actual content framework is developed together with the students at the beginning of the study period.
Learner's time use and workload
Contact teaching time for the course is regularly reserved for the whole academic year, but students are expected to practice using the studied tools also between lessons. In connection with possible public projects, the course can be more burdensome.
Teaching methods
Theory-based lectures lead to guided independent work on the discussed topics. During the study period, the aim is to do exercises also in real contexts related to the audiovisual programming of the performing arts.
Optional complete methods of the study option
In principle, the course is carried out according to this implementation plan, but the application of some of the content can be discussed with the teacher, if necessary.
