In the Start your journey to Finland section, you will gather information about Finnish society and its participation from different sources.
After exploring the sources, you will have two tasks: an information test and a reflection task.
Learner's time use and workload
The scope of the course is two credits (2 ECTS). This means approximately 50 hours of study with material, exercises and tests.
Allow plenty of concentration time for language sections 1-3 and a quiet practice environment.
Teaching methods
This is an independent study course that you can start and complete at your own pace. We start with sounds and work our way through the vocabulary to phrases.
At the end of each section there is a test, which, if passed, allows you to move on to the next section of the course. You can take the test as often as you need to.
When you have passed the final tests of all the sections, you will receive a pass mark for the course and you will have practised the basics of Finnish.
The aim of the course is for you to learn about Finland, its culture, history and geography.
You will also learn the basics of the Finnish language; pronunciation, basic vocabulary and phrases.
