After completing the study module in politics and organisations worth 15 credits, students will be familiar with the principles of various approaches in political science. They will be able to describe central concepts in the study of politics and organisations, as well as identify research topics in the field. Students will be familiar with the basics of the structures and practices of political decision-making in Finland and the European Union, as well as able to describe their central changes. Students will also be able to identify, as per their chosen field, either theoretical notions analysing the public sphere and democracy or central political thinkers and their basic concepts, including the ability to compare them with each other. Students will gain proficiency in critically evaluating political decision-making and the exercise of power in various institutions. They will be able to connect their learning with topical phenomena and related public discourse. They will have the ability to further study politics and organisations.
