This is an advanced-level Master’s course that requires suitable prior university-level studies in the field. Please check possible prerequisites in the section “Prerequisites”.

Why do so many projects fail to reach their goals? Why do schedules slip, budgets exceed expectations, or entire projects lose direction? This course explores the key reasons behind project success and failure and provides a deeper understanding of modern project management in complex and strategically important projects.

During the course, you will examine what modern project management means in today’s changing business environment and what kinds of skills, tools, and approaches successful project managers need. The course covers topics such as project planning and scheduling, stakeholder management, teamwork, communication, risk management, and different project management approaches, including both traditional and agile methods. The course also explores the growing role of AI and how artificial intelligence can support project management and decision-making.

The course combines research-based knowledge with practical business perspectives and real-life examples. It challenges you to think beyond traditional project management models and to understand the broader strategic, organizational, and human dimensions of projects. At the same time, practical assignments and discussions help you connect theory with real project situations and develop skills that are highly relevant in working life.
