Leadership for Global Career

Students must have completed the course International Human Resource Management (JOHT3097JOHT3010) before taking this course.

This is a Master’s level advanced course that requires applicable higher education studies in the field. Please also check prerequisites.

By the end of this course, students should be able to evaluate the key approaches to the study of leadership. Students should also be able to analyze the nature of leadership in global organizations, outcomes of leadership (e.g., well-being) and the challenges inherent in the identification of leadership potential and leader development. The students will be familiar with ethical aspects of leadership work and apply leadership development approaches in a global context. The course will also support the development of students’ skills in the areas of group work, interpersonal skills, digital collaboration, and self-awareness/assessment of their own leadership capabilities. The students will also be able to assess and develop their own career plan in a global context. Additionally, this course aims to align with key Sustainable Development Goals, such as SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth; SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being; and SDG 5: Gender Equality, providing opportunities to integrate these perspectives as relevant throughout the course.
