Developing Business Models

This is an advanced-level Master’s course that requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration
or
other Bachelor-level degree in combination with 30 ECTS credits in business studies.

After completing the course, you are equipped with the ability to:

• Identify and describe the key building blocks of a business model and explain how they are connected in different business contexts.
• Apply theoretical frameworks and analytical tools to analyze, evaluate, and develop business models in different industries.
• Recognize business development opportunities and use business model thinking to support strategic decision-making.
• Strengthen your analytical and critical thinking skills as well as your communication and collaboration skills in business development contexts.

Selected book chapters and articles provided by the teacher. All course materials are available in the course Moodle area.

Participation is primarily intended for students in the Finnish-language Master’s Programme in Business Development. In addition, a maximum of five open university students can be admitted to the course.

Before starting the course, you are expected to be familiar with the key concepts of strategic management.
