Developing Business Models

As a basis for strategic decisions, students can apply existing frameworks and tools in diverse industries while considering the existing theoretical and empirical evidence on Business Models. By the end of the course, students will be able to understand not only the main building blocks of a business model and how they are linked but also the most used business model configurations in diverse contexts. In particular, students will be able to:
· Understand and describe the core building blocks of a business model while identifying how these components interact and can be combined to create diverse configurations.

· Utilize the course frameworks, tools, and techniques to design, analyze, evaluate, and transform (innovate) business models for different industries.

The course will also support the development of students’ critical skills in business opportunity recognition and business planning, analytical and critical thinking, and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

Right to participate for students in the Master's Programme in Strategic Business Development, and for a maximum of 10 exchange students. These students will be selected based on the registration order.

Before starting the course, the students must be familiar with key strategic management concepts.

The course is optional in the Master's program in Business Development studies (Kokkola).
