The Software Project Management course introduces the fundamentals of project management, beginning with project definition through the post-project review. There will be an emphasis placed on applying project management concepts and techniques to software development projects. The following topics will be covered in the course:

At the end of the course students will be able to

Demonstrate knowledge of key Project Management concepts and terminology
Develop a project plan for the development of a commonly used software
Demonstrate knowledge of tools and techniques for monitoring quality control of IT projects
Understand the importance of defining and anticipating potential risks
Describe how to communicate project progress to all stakeholders
Explain the roles and duties and responsibilities of software project managers
Explain how to manage and staff software project teams
Describe how to manage stakeholder expectations
Identify issues that could lead to software project success or failure
