Teaching Skills in Practice

The student must have completed Becoming a teacher (2 ECTS) and Digital and interactive teaching and learning (3 ECTS) (curriculum 2024-27) OR Basics of University Pedagogy A (curriculum 2020-2022) OR equivalent studies in order to attend to the course.

The student knows what needs to be considered when planning teaching. They can plan and develop their teaching according to the principles of learning-focused teaching and sustainable development. Students can apply in practice what they have learned in previous modules and justify their pedagogical solutions. The student understands how teaching methods affect learning. They are able to select and justify teaching methods supporting active learning for different learning environments and diverse groups. They can search for information on teaching methods in their own discipline and assess their suitability for their own teaching. They recognize the role of assessment as part of constructively aligned teaching and identifies different approaches to assessment. They understand how assessment can be used to guide and support learning. They are able to produce a constructively aligned course plan and discuss pedagogical issues across disciplinary boundaries. Students develop their ability to reflect their own teaching and to give peer feedback.
