Climate.now – Introduction to Climate Change

Climate.now belongs to the courses offered by the Climate University network of Finnish universities (for more details and a full list of courses, see https://climateuniversity.fi/). It is offered in slightly different formats in several Finnish universities. At the University of Turku, the MAAN6570 Climate.now - introduction to climate change is on Digicampus platform as a 2 ECTS format. The three main themes of the course are: 1) the natural science foundations of climate change (including the greenhouse effect, the carbon cycle, the climate models); 2) mitigation of climate change (including carbon-neutral energy and renewable energy production, carbon footprint, climate policy); 3) impacts and adaptation (including ecosystem services, feedback phenomena, adaptation to climate change).. The course is divided into seven content modules. These are divided into 2-4 subsections, called books.
