After the course student

• understands elastic behaviour of simple strusses, beams and frames
  
• understands concepts of force, momentum, stress and deformation and knows concepts of work, energy and principles of virtual work
  
• is able to model analytically iso- and hyperstatic strusses, beams and frames subjected to forces and loads, and
• is able to determine internal forces, stresses, deformations and displacements for struss, beam and frame structures.
• In addition, studying develops the ability of student to
• explain and evaluate critically his or her performance in assignments and the reality of solutions, and
• put in writing and verbalise issues.
