The course forms the basis for textile and material engineering studies and gives grounds for professional development. The course provides an introduction to the fundamental principles of textile engineering, and sustainable practices within the textile industry. After completing the course, the student is able to • understand the basic concepts of textile engineering and polymers • understand the main manufacturing processes for textiles and terminology related to textile manufacturing processes • explore the properties of textile materials (fibers, yarns, and fabrics) • evaluate sustainable and recycling practices in textile and clothing production • evaluate quality of textiles
