Do you want to know how science became the foundation of our society? What kinds of ideologies exist in the world? This course offers an opportunity to explore the development of scientific thinking and various ideological currents from antiquity to the present day. The course covers changes, upheavals, and societal dimensions of scientific thought. Additionally, you will become acquainted with the general trends in thinking about society, religion, and philosophy. Join us and broaden your understanding of ways of thinking that are unfamiliar to us!

What you will learn

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to describe the main developments of scientific thinking from the antiquity to the present. Students will understand the breakthroughs of scientific thinking and their significance to world views. Students will be able to locate the social requirements of sciences, the changes of the relationship between humanity and nature, and the definition of scientific rationality. Students will also be able to illustrate the developments of the ideas rationalising society, government, politics, and social movements from the antiquity to the present.
