Fundamentals of Information Systems

After completing the course, the student will be able to: * use basic concepts of information systems, * recognize challenges regarding the use of information systems and users, * describe the basics of organisation, e.g. its structure and function, * recognize different types of information systems and their roles in an organisation, * describe how organizational knowledge is formed and recognize the challenges of managing it, * recognize ethical and social challenges related to information systems, * describe the role of information systems in leadership and decision-making, * recognize the possibilities of information systems renewal and financial impact of it, as well as * describe the basics of the history of the information systems discipline, its research methods, and scientific journals.
