Media and Popular Culture in Asia

Intermediate studies
The course will highlight theoretical approaches, relevant methods for researching and context and specific case study information on media (film, TV, digital media such as social media) and digital culture in or regarding Asia. It will discuss one or a small number of exemplary case studies which is/are jointly discussed and analyzed with the appropriate theories and methods. These case studies may be situated in one or several Asian regions or regard Asian diasporas, and include historical and/or contemporary contexts.
