The course provides research perspectives on the history of international relations from the perspective of conflicts, crises, different state systems, and international organisations. The course examines the crisis and transition periods in international relations from the 19th to the 21st century, the effects on global changes from the internal and external exercising of state power, the European state system’s development stages, imperialism, colonialism, large-scale conflicts and their management between states, the stages of development of regional state systems, and globalising world politics. The course examines the ideologies, concept systems, and thought patterns behind the functioning and change processes of global systems. Emphasis is placed on the schools of historical research in international relations and their interpretations and historical debates.
