German for Beginners 1

The course is intended for students who wish to begin studying German.

After completing the course, students will

• Understand slow and clear speech and uncomplicated texts on the topics of the course
• Be able to communicate orally and in writing using simple sentences in everyday situations
• Be familiar with the style of communication and customs of German-speaking countries
• Be fluent in the basic constructs of German.

Campus D1. The learning material can be downloaded from the course Moodle area. 

There are several completion methods for the course, see the group-specific information for a particular group.

The course includes 24–48 hours of real-time study in a classroom and approximately 60–84 hours of independent study.

• Active participation: compulsory attendance (at least 75%)
• Completion of agreed assignments in the time allotted
• Mid-course and end-of-course examinations
• Pair and group work
• An extensive amount of oral exercises
• Short compositions

Students in all degree programmes, students with a JOO flexible study right, international students.

The course can also be offered as open university education.
