Foundations of Solid Mechanics

The course provides basic information on calculating structural tensions for ropes, rods, trusses, and beam structures. The course covers stress and strain, displacements and rotations, cross-sectional dimensions, thermal stresses, stress concentrations, and torsion of a round rod. In addition, the course gives the basics of calculating buckling for rods, strain gauges, and fatigue.
