Are you interested in university studies? Are you aiming for a bachelor’s degree? Open UAS gives you an opportunity to study towards a degree.
Target group Path studies are intended for everyone, regardless of age or educational background. Starting studies does not require any previous studies or work experience. However, the studies require commitment to studying, motivation, self-guidance and sufficient linguistic, mathematical and IT skills. The student must have their own computer (laptop). Your English language must be sufficient. Your language skills might be tested. Enrolment Students will be accepted for path studies in the order of enrolment. Enrolment is binding, and the number of study places is limited. Note: If you are unemployed, please identify the impact of studies on unemployment security beforehand from TE services. Studies Path studies are primarily the first academic year’s studies. Studying takes place in a group of degree programme students according to timetables. Studies are provided as daytime, multimodal or online studies. For a more detailed description of studies, click the link below the text. The studies require active participation in contact and remote teaching. One credit equals approximately 27 hours of studies. Open University of Applied Sciences (Open UAS) students have the same study requirements as degree programme students. A limited right to study will be granted for Open UAS studies. The right to study only applies to studies that are indicated in the description. Credit transfers are only possible after you have become a degree programme student. When preparing an individual study plan, prior studies completed and prior competence acquired will, however, be acknowledged. Becoming a degree programme student After you have completed path studies (60 credits), you can apply for a degree programme student position at Lapland UAS through a separate application (Open UAS application). Credits from path studies completed at Open UAS can be transferred after you have submitted an application and been accepted as a degree programme student. As a degree programme student, you will usually continue your studies in the same group of students. Content of studies Path studies take usually one year.
