GenoNurse Educational Model and RoadMap : A Guide to Teachers and Students -study material

Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) coordinates the GenoNurse Project, which aims to integrate genomic-informed nursing care into European nursing education. This article introduces the key outcomes of the Erasmus+ funded GenoNurse Project, coordinated by Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK). As genomics becomes a vital part of individualized care, nursing education must evolve to equip future professionals with the competencies needed to understand and apply genetic information in clinical settings. The article serves as a practical guide for both nursing educators and students. It presents the GenoNurse educational model and roadmap designed to support the integration of genomic-informed nursing care into nursing curricula across Europe. In addition to outlining the background, aims, and structure of the model, the article highlights its benefits in improving patient care, ethical decision-making and professional readiness in a rapidly advancing field. This article is intended for self-study and does not grant study credits.
