As a Bachelor of Hospitality Management, you will be a competent and distinctive expert in the development of the tourism and hospitality industry. The bilingual degree programme is aimed at immigrants, and the studying of the Finnish language has a significant role in this degree programme. This pathway is suitable for you if you want a reliable and fast route to becoming a degree student. Path studies are suitable for citizens of Finland or those who live permanently in Finland and who aim to get a Bachelor's degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management for Immigrants. Studies are of the degree program, mainly the half of first year studies. Path students of Open UAS study in the same group with degree students. The studies are mainly at Microkatu campus. Education is full-time studying, consisting of studying in a group, independently and in online environment, practical work and with development tasks. Electronic materials, services and learning environments are extensively used, so the student must have his or her own laptop. Studies cannot be completed by distance learning alone.

The programme prepares you to find a career in the field of Tourism and Hospitality in Finland. Bilingual degree means that in the beginning, the studies will mostly be conducted in English, with Finnish language teaching gradually taking over. To be eligible, you must have minimum of B2 level in the English language. There is no requirement for Finnish language skills.

This degree provides you with the knowledge and skills you need to get a job in Finland. Since studying the Finnish language is the key to employment in Finland, Savonia offers many opportunities to study Finnish during your studies. By the time of graduation, the goal is that the student will be able to work in Tourism and Hospitality industry in Finland using the Finnish language. There is a demand now and in the future for skilled workforce in the tourism and hospitality industry. This versatile field offers the opportunity to develop expertise, work as an entrepreneur, and find employment in Finland. The studies will start with an orientation programme. In the orientation you will get to know Savonia, your studies, practicalities, and of course the other students in your group. The orientation programme has been especially planned to help you cope with the flow of new information in the beginning of your studies. It is vital that you participate in the orientation day.

TARGET GROUP
These studies are not aimed at students, who must pay for the tuition fee of degree students.

STUDY BENEFITS
Studying at the Open UAS does not entitle to a study grant or study social benefits. If you are an unemployed jobseeker, contact Employment Services before enrolling for the studies.

ENROLMENT AND CANCELLATION TERMS
Binding enrolment takes place on 04.05. – 14.08.2026. Enrolment starts on 04.05.2026 at 9.00 am and the study places are filled in the order of enrolment. There are 5 places available for path studies. The information you provide on the enrolment form will be used in accordance with the GDPR.
• Enrolment for studies at the Open UAS is always binding. The registrant accepts the cancellation terms when enrolling.
• A student of the Open UAS is granted the right to study limited in time and content. The right to study cannot be exchanged for other studies or transferred to the next academic year.
• If you cancel or interrupt your studies, the fee will not be refunded. The fee will only be refunded if Savonia University of Applied Sciences cancels the education, or your medical condition prevents you from attending the studies (medical certificate must be presented).
